What was the highlight of Cariblue BeachJungle Hotel
Very Good
The space is huge, and very peaceful to walk through. There are several pools on site, a holistic health center, and restaurant on site. I enjoyed the hammock outside my room and how comfortable the bed was. Got a massage with Ignacio, that was amazing!!! The restaurant was convenient and had a variety of options. Breakfast was also good. Staff was also very friendly and attentive.
The major draw back was that the internet from the room was very bad. Not enough signal and didn't really work (showed not having internet). Had to use phone data. Perhaps it was my room (26), but was glad I was only staying one day. Not as big of an issue, but the shower dispensers (conditioner & shampoo) were clogged up.

What was the highlight of Cariblue BeachJungle Hotel
Good location for wildlife
The location was excellent, we saw sloths and howler monkeys in the hotel surroundings and from the pool. Being opposite the beach was really cool. The pool was really nice and there was enough sunbeds (off season allowed this though, unsure what it would be like during peak season). The bed was comfortable and really big. The air con and fridge facilities were good. The whatsapp messaging system worked well for booking things and arranging transport. The staff at breakfast were great and the breakfast food was really nice. There are a few nice restaurants within walking distance, or it's a 10 minute bike ride or 30 min walk into town.
The shower temperature gauge did not work properly, we had cold showers most days (often fine when it's so humid but would be good to have the option). Everything was so expensive, we booked a chocolate tour through the hotel for $40 each and found out from other people on the tour that they only paid $28 each so the markup was extortionate. The service from the reception team was ok, but not once did I see anyone offer to carry bags for guests, we all had to lug several bags ourselves and they would walk on ahead of you - good service goes a long way when you're paying a lot of money for a nice hotel! Dinner service wasn't great, we only ate at the hotel once as it's too expensive. The spa system for booking was very unclear and I ended up with a treatment that I didn't want/enjoy.
